| Our Team Dr Ian Dallison - LASIK Surgeon / Clinical Director Dr Ian Dallison was part of the founding group that established Laservision, bringing laser refractive surgery to the South Island in 1997. Qualifications: MB.ChB. Otago, FRANZCO, FRACS Medical Training: After leaving St Andrews College as Dux, Ian studied medicine at the Otago Medical School gaining his degree in 1980. Three years were spent in general practice before going on to do his ophthalmology training in Wellington and Christchurch. During this time he received the Pharmicia and Davis & Geck prizes for papers presented. He then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, with further experience in Australia before returning to Christchurch. Sub specialty Interests: Refractive surgery, anterior segment and cataract surgery, glaucoma, strabismus, general and acute ophthalmology. Current Practice: Full time private ophthalmic practice in Christchurch since 1993. Helped establish Laservision in 1997, becoming the leading LASIK surgeon in 1999 and clinical director. | Dr Malcolm McKellar - LASIK Surgeon Dr Malcolm McKellar joined Laservision in 2002. He is the only person in New Zealand trained as both an ophthalmologist (specialist in eye disease and eye surgery) and optometrist (specialist in glasses and contact lenses). Qualifications: MBChB, B.Optom, FRANZCO Ophthalmic Training: Malcolm trained as an eye surgeon in New Zealand and then gained further sub specialty experience in treating disease of the anterior segment, cornea and external eye in Jerusalem, Israel and Manchester, England. Sub specialty Interests: Refractive surgery, diseases of the cornea, anterior segment and external ocular surface including corneal transplantation, tumour surgery, cataract surgery, eye trauma and complex anterior segment surgery.
